LIGHT PENETRATION

AI-generated conceptual cutaway. Paths show relative reach, not measured penetration or treatment dose. Near-infrared is invisible and shown in rose.

BENEATH THE SURFACE

Different colors.
Different depths.

See the relative reach of blue, yellow, red and near-infrared light.
A visual guide to the science, not a measurement of your device.

Published estimates from Opel et al., 2015, Table 1 ↗. Not Numiere-tested depths.

The paths illustrate relative penetration, not an exact stopping point or effective treatment dose. Near-infrared is invisible and is shown in rose for clarity. AI-generated tissue artwork; anatomy is simplified.

How should I read these depth estimates?+

The figures above reproduce one review’s summary for blue (400–470 nm), yellow (570–590 nm), red (630–700 nm) and infrared (800–1200 nm). They are not a universal standard or test results for Numiere devices. The review’s blue wavelength is clarified in its main text. Read the 2015 LED review ↗

A later review reports substantially different red-light estimates and explains that penetration measurements vary with wavelength, beam width, power density, absorption, scattering and skin characteristics. Light reaching a depth does not establish an effective treatment dose there. We have not verified a penetration depth for any particular Numiere model. Read the JAAD review ↗

A LITTLE MORE CLARITY

Your questions,
answered.

Know the difference.
Choose with confidence.

Are EMS, TENS and microcurrent the same?+

No. These are distinct electrical modalities, and their names do not establish interchangeable settings or treatment areas. Numiere lists different combinations across its body devices and facial devices. Follow the instructions for your exact model.

Does every LED device have the same wavelengths?+

No. The light modes and wavelength specifications vary across the collection. For example, the Time Keeper Mask and Feather Face guide list different wavelength combinations. A specification for one device should not be applied to another.

Is a heat setting the same as far-infrared?+

No. A warming function alone does not establish far-infrared output. Body Keeper X lists heat, while selected models separately list infrared or near-infrared. Use the exact terminology in your model’s specifications.

Is vibration the same as lymphatic drainage?+

No. Vibration and rolling describe mechanical movement. They do not, by themselves, demonstrate clinical lymphatic drainage or detoxification. The Fat Iron Pro page describes “drainage” as an esthetician technique, not a demonstrated physiological effect of the product.

Can I use all technologies in one session?+

Only use combinations and schedules allowed by your device’s instructions. Treatment areas, preparation, eye protection, settings and contraindications vary. Review the included guide before starting and seek professional advice if you are unsure whether a device is appropriate for you.
